About us.

At Taylor & Bosworth we design, produce and hand-finish traditional door and window ironmongery for discerning clients.

Our collection is traditional with the timeless patterns from history being reinvented for today’s requirements.

Traditional.

At Taylor & Bosworth, we have a passion for designs from the past.
With this in mind, we have created a range of quality, solid Brass door and window ironmongery and interior fittings.

The Design Process.

Our starting point is always an original fitting, be it a time-worn handle saved from a demolished building or an image from a 200-year-old ironmongery catalogue.

Our in-house craftsmen use this inspiration to produce a working prototype for proportion and function testing. These are then scrutinised and further honed until they meet our approval and can then be passed for manufacture.

Cohesive.

We have taken inspiration from historical homes of distinction, where the ironmongery was imagined with the architect to ensure the continuity of the detailing.

Our range of door knobs and lever handles has been meticulously designed to include appropriately proportioned fittings within a family from door to window. This will offer a significant time saving during specification.

Engineered.

Our range is not just beautiful.

All fittings have been engineered to work well for years to come, making our range an ideal investment to add value to your home.

Most other door knobs are cast hollow to save on material, not ours. Every fitting we produce is solid giving a heavy and quality feel.

Experienced.

We are masters of our craft and have been producing high quality ironmongery and metalwork at our workshop for many years.

Hand Finished.

Our workshop is situated in the Midlands county of Leicestershire, close to the historical heart of England’s brass foundry district. We’re proud to maintain the heritage of this British industry.

All of our products are produced in solid brass. We utilise a traditional sand-casting method for the majority of our range. This is the same process used to produce the original fittings that first inspired our designs. Our stems and roses are produced using the latest CNC machining technology and are milled from solid bars. The components are then hand polished, drilled for fixings and held in stock for assembly and final hand finishing, which is undertaken to order. We also colour-match our supplied screws at the same time for perfect coordination. Sand casting will occasionally give small imperfections which only adds to the character.

Our extensive range can only be purchased through our specially chosen, UK based resellers. Please contact us for your nearest stockist.
